Creepy!!! shivers That makes me shudder in the involuntary way that goes with the old saying "somebody just stepped on my grave" :lol: Can you put garlic in the dog's food? It makes the dog smell bad to the fleas, ticks and might help keep them off.
We have top spot on him and a flea colar, I am going to try garlic, too! can't hurt. Thanks.

Eeeewwwwuuu! I hate ticks! Poor you, maybe you should lock the doors and put a laundry basket on the back doorstep and not let anything enter until it's got your approval.
Yes, Carol and you could put a note on the door that says, "leave clothes in basket before entering" :lol: :lol: :lol: That would get your visitors talking!!!!

Ticks = Nasty! :sick

I give my dogs fresh garlic and b complex vitamins. One of the b vitamins repels bugs, forget which one it is right now. I use no chemicals on my dogs at all. I have been doing this for about seven years now with very good luck. I have also heard to add real apple cider vinegar to their drinking water, just do not use a metal bowl. It must be the type with the 'mother' in it, you can probably find it at a health food store. Another thing I will do for when we take walks in the woods is to make a spray out of lavender, tea tree and cedar oils. Mix about 10-20 drops of each with about 8oz if water and spray on both people and dogs. There are many other oils that will work too, those are just the ones I have on hand right now.

Thistle, you are too funny. :lol: Might want to put a flea and tick collar on DH now that you brought it up. ;)

Ive heard Guineas are heck on ticks. Plus they roost in the trees at night so they are pretty self sufficient. Loud as all get out but they are serious bug control.

As soon as I get my "someday farm" Guinea hens are first on my list! Organic, cheap bug control- how can you go wrong?
