Hi Beekissed & Davaroo,

I too have been having great success with Aspirin. My Stevia seeds came up in 2.5days (they are reported to be slow to germinate). All of the vegetables & flowers that I have sown since you posted the info (Davaroo) I have treated with "Aspirin water". Their germination has been faster & the plants are definitely a lot stronger. I haven't been using grow-lights, only natural light (I'm talking inside here) but the plants are really sturdy & healthy -- no spindly yellowed plants for me!! I am truly amazed by the difference it's made. I have continued watering them once a week with the mixture.

Since I've been direct sowing outside I have watered all seeds with the mixture & the germination has been brilliant -- even on carrots (the bane of my life, previously). When plants get damaged (usually by my Dorking Chickens' large feet) I have propped the plant up(& kind of splinted it) then watered it with the magic mixture, & they have recovered fully.

I definitely will continue to use it. It is great to discover something new that really makes a difference (& doesn't cost a fortune). THANKS DAVAROO !!! :bouquet

Thanks for that detailed "report," Hattie and beekissed.
Can I ask you guys to add some details about the ratio of aspirin : water you find to be most useful?

I tried this with some eggplant starts that were sulking and with some neglected pepper plants that I potted up waaaay too late. I would have expected the peppers to sulk after transplanting for at least 2 weeks, but they started to grow a significant amount of new growth in only one week after I potted them up AND fed them once with 1 tablet of aspirin dissolved in 1 gallon of water. I am impressed.

It would be worth trying a more controlled experiment and trying different concentrations of aspirin.

Thank you Davaroo for posting this topic here. :D

Hey, its my pleasure! So one tablet per gallon is working? THats good to know. Are you using any other fertilizers?

my eggplant has no berries ..just some now sad looking flowers and droopy leaves... appears to be suffering I have always used aspirin on cut flowers but this thread has opened my eyes to a whole new world so thank you so Davaroo!

I am going to give everything a dose of aspirin it is my favorite pain reliever ...but all I have on hand now is the Canadian stuff with added caffiene and some codiene I wonder if it would matter for the first dose?

I will go later and pick up a bottle of plain old ASA :) I think it is too late for the eggplants they are so far behind ..but I will try

I have to face facts there will always be some vegetables I have to purchase!

that is ok :)

Davaroo -- well, I do water with duck pond water, so I guess that counts as a fertilizer, but I would say a weak organic one because I am regularly changing the duck's water out. Even with the duck water use, I still would have expected a couple of weeks of lag with these peppers and they are going STRONGLY now. My goodness!

HiDelight -- If it makes you feel any better, the eggplant plants that I bought the same time you did are sulking too. Part of it is from neglect, but I think we also got quite a bit of cool weather after our June heat wave. I would recommend putting them in the warmest spot in your garden and trying the aspirin on them. I don't think summer has really gotten rolling here yet.

Thanks for that link. That is a cool site.

Although aspirin is not organic, I don't put it in the same category with chemical pesticides. It's not organic, but I don't think it will leave residual toxins in my food.

I tried asprin water on my less than stellar raised bed garden and I am impressed!!! My one tomato plant that WOULD NOT fruit did, the melon vines that weren't flowering are (and I have one female flower - yay!) and my peppers, corn, etc. all seem much healthier and growing faster. I'm impressed!!!

That's the link that got me interested in the first place. And as for residual toxins, well... we've been taking aspirin for almost 150 years, now. I don't think there's all that much to worry about.

This has been very interesting reading all posts on aspirin and it's affect. Soooooooooo

I just planted 5 sweet corn seeds w/aspirin on them and 5 right beside them w/out. I plan on digging them up after all are through the ground and looking at the root system.

Plus we've sprayed aspirin water on soybeans and field corn to see if this fall we see any yield difference altho I think we used too weak of a solution. So I'm looking into germination properties.
