Bad year here too...clear across the state we have observed everyone's tomatoes and they are much like mine. Either blighted with smaller and less fruiting or all greenery and small/less fruiting. Gardens that usually have great tomatoes are all experiencing the same thing.

Same with taters...blighted, huge lush vines, very little bloom, no taters underneath.

Same with beans...lush growth, few beans, then vines all blighted and dying early.

Same with squash....fewer fruits, then early death.

Onions...same, all tops, no bottoms or just disappear altogether.

Peppers, lush growth or blighted, fewer peppers if any at all.

And that's everyone's gardens to whom I've spoken and most of the gardens I've observed on my travels.

I'm going to have to try that @Nyboy . Is the recipe on the video pretty close to what you bought? I have tons of green cherry tomatoes. Something else I need to do some day is pickle some watermelon rind. I hear the rind is more nutritious than the flesh. I love pickled anything! (Well, veggie...no pig's feet for me.)

My tomatoes were late coming on, but that's because I was about a month late putting them in the ground. I potted up in Miracle Gro soil until I could get to them and that worked out well. They just started ripening about Aug. 15th, but I've had a steady supply since off of 16 plants. I'm freezing them until I have time to can them all into sauce. And now that I think about it, I need to dig up that recipe for Summer Spaghetti that was posted by @britesea here awhile back. I printed it out and laid it somewhere...

i wish mine would finally change color. too many green Roma's in the garden this year & i usually have a few turned by now. i need to get a pic of one of the plants i noticed last night. there is some weirdness going on with how the leaves are growing & it seems to be affecting the flowers & the stems they are growing on-or should be. i found them growing between some sumac i hadn't bothered to trim out of the garden & i just pushed those back last night & found the tomatoes coming up with them.

If you want to post a pic, we'll take a look at it for you.

This is the worst year ever for my garden. Wet, wet, wet all season long. Our spring was soggy. June, July, and August soggy with a few days in the 90s. Most of our friends and neighbors agree that their gardens have been drowned. Ahhh but hope springs eternal - spring 2017 will be here before we know it.

Anymore, I can just about imagine what a recipe will taste like from the list of ingredients.

Well, if it sounds bad, then I just don't make it, which I guess is good...although maybe I should be broadening my horizons and I am really missing out...and that would be bad...I guess, it's just a guess then. :p
