Armoire, or storage cabinet?
That's what it would replace ...

After Dad's 3 month stay and his move to assisted living, I took the armoire that was beside the South Room for his use. Broken, it went in the dumpster.

The space is no longer needed for a wardrobe with only 2 of us living here. On-the-other-hand, the kitchen is entirely too cluttered with kitchen equipment! It is only a few steps away near the backdoor so a "buffet" cabinet may be more suitable for its intended use.

Interesting differences when searching. Bathroom cabinets are generally too small. Utility room storage is rather "utility" in appearance. Coffee/buffet cabinets are rather narrow ... entry hall storage rather narrow as well but this might be okay.

It isn't wood and not as pretty but I have a Rubbermaid 72" tall 2 door cabinet in my basement.
Funny, the basement rafters are 72 1/2" high so it Just fits!
It is very sturdy, doesn't need painting, doesn't rust and holds a Ton of weight. All of my extra dishes are literally piled in it, no breakage.
I am not sure if This one is mine, can't seem to find an identical one, but the storage is really good.
It would take a LOT of estate sale or antique shopping to find a pretty wooden one, IMHO, and you wouldn't get the same strength.
Also, this one at WalMart is more affordable:
You could always cover it with some very nice fabric while not in use, if you don't like the looks of it, hence they recommend it for garages and basements.

Dry on what must be a very humid day?

It seems like forevah since I could hang clothes out. Freeze drying is a very, very sloooow process. Oh well, the drier is convenient, which I suppose is the idea behind dang near everything in American culture.

Yes humidity is in the stratosphere. But it was and is very windy!

@ducks4you

A friend gave me this recipe in 1989. I haven’t made it in a long time. It makes a fabulous pie!

Many years ago, maybe 35 or 40? My Daddy cut down a big mimosa tree stump in a neighbor’s yard. He took the stump to a man who milled it into lumber and made 3 recipe boxes. It’s been packed away a long time. I’ve been going through it, finding old recipes I used to make. I hope you enjoy them.

The impossible buttermilk pie is SO easy! All in one bowl, pour in greased pie plate and bake.

The Everlasting muffins are a good recipe. Make basic recipe, add blueberries or strawberries or orange zest when you pour batter in the muffin tins.

Peggy and Bennett moved my refrigerator from son’s house to my house this morning. Road was sketchy but I didn’t topple the refrigerator over. It was on my flatbed trailer, Bennet had it strapped securely but the lumpy bumpy deep rutted road did make it wobble and tilt back and forth.

Then the propane truck showed up and instead of the 75 gallons I ordered, at $236.25, he confused my order with another and filled the tank. New amount $405. He felt terrible and apologized profusely. I wasn’t mad, sh!t happens. I paid $250 and the office will invoice me next month for the rest.

Then I cleaned the refrigerator, shelves and bins were already out, I scrubbed everything. Put shelves and bins back in.

Pie crusts! Just finished making 4 pie crusts and they are in the refrigerator.

Time to feed Spot, fixed his bottle and he’s happy now.

15 minutes until I feed the dogs at 3:00. I found some freezer burnt stew meat yesterday and simmered it for the dogs. Got a quart jar of meat and broth. They will get half of it today, half tomorrow, over their kibble.

Pro tip - never hang freshly washed underwear outside on the line to dry if it's gonna freeze that night! I learned this the hard way. When I went to gather them up the next morning they were stiff as a board and could probably crack in half! 😂 It totally ruins the elastic!!!

before you buy something like this make sure it doesn't stink. we have a plastic toolbox in the garage that smells like dog poo. 30+ years later, still stinks...
