While they live in pairs or family groups during the mating/family raising season, I think they flock together for the migration south. Yours may be a local gathering site this year.

I heard a thunk on the glass door this afternoon and looked out to see a tiny bird on the doorstep. He was still alive so I brought him in and put him in my garden hat with a towel over the top. I really thought he would die, but about 30 minutes later I heard him rustling around and took my hat outside and opened it up. Out he flew!
I looked him up and I think I ID'd him as a brown creeper. So cute!

Cute bird and nice save @thistlebloom ... I've not seen a brown creeper. They are around here but rare to see.

I was just reading about the Audubon Society pushing for bird-safe glass for the new Vikings stadium under construction ... didn't know there was such a thing. The glass has small dots barely visible at a distance. It would only add 1.1 million to the cost of the stadium ... so far they aren't going for it.

Yes i heard about that discussion too, @Lavender2 . I'm very angry they're still considering building huge glass towers. Ridiculous, when there are bird-friendly designs out there. There was a lot of talk about that new solar plant they built scorching birds - but the numbers were miniscule compared to how many birds are killed by striking glass windows, or killed by cats every year.

Here in S.E. Indiana Redtail Hawks are common but over the past few weeks I have seen two (I think) gigantic ones here at PlayStation. I wish I could get a picture of one in a scene that would show their enormous size. Normally a standard size RT Hawk would not attack a full size chicken but these giants just might attack a full grown elephant!

Here are a couple of pictures I got a few years ago on my game camera here at PlayStation. I must admit that I used bait to get these pictures. If you look close you may see a tiny field mouse on a wire "leash" to attract the hawk.

Wow, great shots Smiles!
I can imagine it wasn't easy to leash a live mouse.

I gave dh a trail cam last Christmas and he still hasn't set it up. :\
