Brown on Oriental Lily Petal Edges

The brown tips are on the freckled Oriental lily with the pink center. The ants are eating the edges of the taller non-freckled Oriental lilies.

Are the freckleds the more expensive Oriental lilies, catjac1975? I think I paid the same for both types of lilies, although there might have been fewer lily bulbs in one box-- say two bulbs instead of one? Are freckleds always costlier, or are they less expensive? I wasn't sure what you meant by 'most expensive.'

The orientals that are fancier are usually more expensive, Stargazer comes to mind as a spectacular beauty. I have stopped buying them because mine eventually reverted to their stock orange and those bugs did them in. The few I have left are getting eaten as we speak. I grow daylilies which never revert and just keep getting bigger.
