Has anyone ever tried substituting butternut squah for pumpkin? I have had no luck with pumkins yet, but I have a ton of butternut squash.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Next year, I'm going to try my hand at growing the new, small, blue hubbards.ohiofarmgirl said:most of the time thats all i use - butternut that is. unless i can get my hands on a blue hubbard....
i tried like heck to grow the big ones -- woudlnt you know it the stupid squash bugs got them. i have a few more plants that just might fruit..and if we have a truly mild fall... could just work.Liberty7 said:Next year, I'm going to try my hand at growing the new, small, blue hubbards.ohiofarmgirl said:most of the time thats all i use - butternut that is. unless i can get my hands on a blue hubbard....
bake it until it's soft then scoop it out.ams3651 said:my mom always used it for pie and it was great. They are just a real pain to peel. Have a very sharp knife and watch your fingers.
