All the normal gifts seems crazy to give her. Something from the oven? Who would dare? She has everything. That she made herself. Maybe the homemade dog treats, I doubt she would drink wine you could afford-but that still might be a safe bet. I have seen photos of the barn where she hosts dinner parties with the horses in the background. Unimaginable! Can I be your plus one? Hahahahaha

Yes, those homemade cookies by your sister's mother-in-law sound perfect. Just put them in a pretty tin or basket. Remember presentation is everything!

My sister's mother inlaw is a amazing baker. She once gave me a tin of homemade cookies. When I tried one it was very bland, I thought she forgot something and threw them out. Next time I saw her she asked how my dogs liked the homemade treats.

Haha! That's hilarious NYBoy!

That is an impossible dilemma! I think I would keep it simple- either a bottle of wine or perhaps a homemade jam. Obviously, she has everything and needs nothing...But, I agree that arriving empty handed would be a "no no". Good luck!

I like the chocolate idea, who doesn't like Godiva?
Me! I don't do chocolate unless it has enough nut, caramel, nougat, whatever to kill the chocolate taste. But if what she says on her "cooking school" program is true, then Martha does like chocolate. The trick is to find something that isn't readily available. . . like Grandma Shufelt's Peanut Candy.

No, wait! I rather like Martha so we don't want her poisoned. Perhaps you can a find Candy Boutique where they make their own chocolates.

Choccolates are so over rated especially during the holiday season. I once got a $100 box of chocolates from a parent. Tried a piece and then threw the rest away. Sure it was good but it was not good for me. Not when I'm trying to watch my weight and eat healthy. Yes, I know every once in a while it's ok but not around the holidays with all the parties going on.
