Ya know, my youngest DD and I have agreed that if either of us gets up in the middle of the night, we are to text each other and have a chat.
And, YES!!, I can throw my thoughts...in case you were wondering.
When DD gets up at night to feed the baby, she texts me. If she is sick or one of the kids are sick and I know she is going to be up in the middle of the night, I leave my computer on and if the cat gets me up or I wake up, I check to see how things are and send her texts.

I had 1 cup of coffee this morning and kind of taking it easy. I picked beans and blanched beans I snapped last night. I will pick some tonight too. I brought in a lemon cucumber and ate that and I think I will bring one in for supper. I fried crooked neck squash for lunch. I sold a trash bag holder on eBay. I have not made up my mind abut eBay if I want to keep it, but I think it might be fun and a way for me to get exercise this winter by going to thrift stores and find things to resell. I dread the cold and being stuck in the house this winter.

The bird is a nut. It gets on a tree stump and makes its crazy noises. It sleeps under the cherry bush, but there is not enough tall grass for it to be really hidden well. I wish its family would come, but really I know this is not one of the quail that lives in our yard. I have no idea where this came from, but i am more and more thinking it was dumped here. I know DD's mother-in-law was raising quail last year and she went out of town and her husband got tired of them and sold them. There may be people who get these birds and get tired of them and turn them loose. It never leaves the yard. I do not see this bird walking down the alley and showing up in my yard, so this could be a problem if this bird does not know what to do this winter. I don't know what quail do in the winter, but if this was raised in captivity and then turned loose and not a native bird from around here, this might not be good.

It could be your pet!
Yes. The ornithologists tell us that there is a high mortality rate for young quail.

Are you ready for our Super Moons? The little crescent moon will be up there above you most of the day today. The moon is coming closer in it's path and by the first of August, Super Close. And then again, the final August day there will be another Super Moon. Hopefully, you will have clear nights 🌕.

It's been well over 90°f (32°C) on recent afternoons and we may have our hottest weather today or tomorrow. I need to make an early break from these 4 walls and have that distant garden watered before everything is flat on the ground. A few things to do besides arriving early. After all, the harvest continues 🧺🍲 !

Is there a dog disease that makes our dogs get us up in the middle of the night?!?!?
It seems to be an epidemic.
My daughter's cat jumps in her bed early in the morning wanting his breakfast. If she doesn't respond, the cat starts pawing at her face. If she sleeps through that, the cat proceeds to pull her hair by grabbing it in his teeth and pulling it until she finally gives in and gets out of bed to feed him!

Well I guess you ought to put out some feed for it. It could be your pet!
I have a bird feeder and I look out now and then and see it under the feeder with about 3 squirrels and a bunch of birds. a total zoo in my yard. lol It could be my excuse to get chickens and have a pen with a top and it could live with the chickens lol.

I am drinking my coffee and talking to people on Facebook messenger. DD telling me about what is going on at her house and another friend telling me her plans. It is going to be hot. I am so glad this rabbit likes the frozen water bottle. She lays so comfortable compared to the other rabbits in the summer. The only one that ever figured out to lay next to it. I have more beans to blanch when I get up and go in the kitchen and go on out the door and pick some more. I need to bring more blackberries in to make juice. That has really helped make room in the freezer. It is now getting to the point that the squash is going to either be eaten or given to friends or thrown on the compost because I have too much in the freezer and I need room for the beans and the tomatoes will be starting.

The sturgeon moon, followed by a blue moon at the end of the month, according to my calendar.

i'm not sure you ever saw the cartoon The Flintstones on TV or not, but there was a part of the introduction song that involved the line "Put the cat out for the night"... it was a simpler time of fewer coyotes and no neighbors... well, also, we never had kitties. based upon Mom's wishes we'd never have had dogs either but we barked those in (instead of squeeked).

Yes I have seen the Flintstones as a child. They were smarter than we are and don't stand for being awakened so early so they put their pets outside! Lol
