Reminds me of my oldest daughter's cat. He is completely obsessed with food. That's all he thinks about. He even steals food from her other cat if she doesn't lock them in separate dining rooms! Lol

having grown up with three older siblings, parents and sometimes food was on the lean side i may have some sympathy for the kitty...

then again too, Mom is a good cook and i was often involved in food prep and cooking at a young age.

and as a complete aside the freezer jam i made last week is a real banger considering i've not had any for several years and i had to taste it to make sure it was ok... yeah, that's my story and i'm sticking to it (with jam on my fingers...).

first and only breakfast will be a slice of Boston Brown Bread with peanut butter and strawberry jam on it.

One of our dogs did the same, and one of our cats also did the same - maybe the same old wisdom, that others' meals are always better?

The seedless grapes from Mexico DW bought are good but I'm going with the Bing cherries with my English muffin and apricot jam for a second breakfast .

Coffee and then out to mow. Not gonna wait beyond 9:30 even though the neighbors had a party Friday night. The visitor who spent the night might appreciate the neighborhood when he comes out and learns that his car had a window down. If anything is missing, I will be in the backyard, not the front. Young guy, i have seen before and a brand new GMC SUV ... everybody makes mistakes.

Coffee is ready. It’s thick fog outside, gooey, dripping heat. We’ve actually had a few days of sunshine, withering heat is back. For the next week, it’s 20%to 30% chance of rain. It’s so wet and soggy, the evaporating water makes it miserable outside. I can last until 11AM or up to 1 PM. Then in for a shower and collapse. Don’t worry, I drink lots of water and I know when to stop and call it a day.

My dear gardening neighbors, I wish to have coffee and cake with you. After such a long waiting, my tiny little shop is there. More photos will be shared in my own thread. It's a lovely place for me, too. Although it's a shady corner (facing east, only some direct sunlight in the morning), it's my new hands-on spot for container gardening.

we used to have Phase 10 cards here but i don't know where they went. Mom may have given them away... it was a fun game. in recent weeks i've played Crazy Eights and we had fun, even though Mom won she still called it Rat B&stard instead...

I love Crazy Eights. I taught Evelyn how to play recently. My aunt taught me how to play when I was very young. DH, DD and I used to play years ago when I was pregnant with DS.

 

[Gardening with Rabbits]

I had my coffee and I am trying to decide where to plant some flowers I started. I have never planted asters or snapdragons. I started seed in May and they have been outside and hardened off. If I plant them now, will either one of them bloom this year? the snapdragons are perennial, so I am assuming that if they live even if they do not bloom they will come back next year? The asters are annual, so if they do not bloom, then I guess no seeds to drop or spread to come back next year?

I do not know much about flowers except the ones I have planted over the years and I know what the little seedlings look like. I have started seeds and bought plants this year of black-eyed Susan, baby's breath, lady's mantle, bachelor buttons, cosmos, Zinnia, Lychnis and stock flowers. I am having fun with them so far.

I planted too many squash and cucumber starts yesterday. I also bought walking onions for the first time. I have no idea where to put all this stuff. I am only using less than half the garden size that I used to plant, so things are pretty crowded.

Snapdragons are only perennials in warmer environments, GwR.

The annual asters are geared to bloom late.

You have a lot going on in that flower garden!
