Moving through the long Winter Solstice – if I understood it correctly, points south have a later turn-around for the earliest sunset. Earlier mornings are happening but "southerners" will need to wait days and days to catch more minutes of afternoon sunlight. Hmmm, here I have had this resentment about southerners not being slammed so hard by short days and there you go, watching the sun drop below the horizon earlier and earlier 
until life and light can turn around.
The Cascades will be picking up a lot of snow over the next few days. But, even in one interstate mountain pass, there may be some above freezing temperatures during the warmest moments of the day. The WS said that we might see some overnight snow but I've yet to notice it. Rain, sprinkles and steady, unusual Winter weather.
Learned something from having "Cat in a Hat" special on yesterday morning. Oh yeah! Caribou are no longer considered as being separate from Reindeer. Yes, there are a number of species but one genus and they are distinguished one from another but there aren't distinctive similarities to put them in two families.
Antler size is sure a distinction from, say, our white tail or mule deer. Wow, some of the caribou have antlers nearly as tall as their bodies.
Finishing my oolong. Nice haul for Steve's drinks yesterday out from under the
. Oh Boy. The next few days I can be enjoying something different every few hours. Snacks, too! I hope you have enjoyable lingering holiday moments .

I spent 5 hours putting together DW's new cabinet. About half way through, I realized that I was swapping the center part, back to front and had to dismantle it and turn it around. It went well, otherwise .
During those 5 hours, I had a root beer, heated up an imported coffee and finished with a West Coast craft beer!
I am so sore now from doing most of the work on my knees that I may need some acetaminophen to sleep. Showered, in my pajamas and bathrobe in the lazyboy. DD said that I missed a beautiful sunset. But, she also said that she likes the looks of the cabinet after asking about it.
