Isn't it neat how the different colors we've looked at really evoke different moods? It's going to depend really on how you want the room to feel. I noticed the posting is removed now, but the suite to me really has a masculine feel to it, in addition to the little bit of black trim and the arrow details on the chair backs. We'll all be waiting to see how it comes together. You are a good haggler to get him down from $2000! Glad you got a good price.
@Nyboy, you may have noticed I didn't enter the fray with suggestions for your bedroom. My color scheme is white on white with oak trim in almost every room. I would love some ideas for color and design, but don't trust myself with much other than a go-with-everything white.
There have been some great ideas given here -- and perhaps if I had an old house I would feel comfortable with colors. Heck, I don't even hang things on the walls. "Dust collectors" says DH.
Of course, I went 20 years without curtains in the living room because I was afraid to commit and the past 4 years with lawn chairs in the TV room because I can't find a couch or chairs that I like. (Since I broke my tailbone (years and years ago) I much prefer non-cushy seating.) I am seriously looking at something more formal in lawn furniture -- light and airy -- for the TV room as I get older and less able to move the heavy, clunking leather set in the living room I don't sit on anyway.
LOL I have seen photos in magazines of great rooms using lawn furniture.!!! A dinningroom had a iron table with glass top with a mismatch of iron garden chairs in different colors.
