I don't ever remember a winter as wet as this one here in GA. It is crazy! My luck, its going to rain all winter and we won't get a drop this summer when I need it.

I'm not going to alter my plans based on that one computer model. Remember weathermen use computer models to come up with their forecasts and this is only one computer model. I like to go to Weather Underground for the hurricane track projections. They have 5 different computer models for their forecasts. Sometimes they agree and sometimes the different models are not close.

Last summer ws OK until mid to late August. Then it turned wet and cool, very unusual for the Ozarks. I just hope it gets dry enough to turn the garden in the nest couple of months, at least the part where I want to start my early crops.

I don't think that we'll have an exact repeat of 2009. I follow the Old Farmer's Almanac, more or less. (The first week of February for Region 6, where I live, if WRONG!! But their track record is about 80%.) April is supposed to be warmer and drier than usual, so I can get some early planting done then. We're supposed to have a hot spell mid-May--my tomatoes will love that.
I guess we'll have to revisit this thread after the harvest to see which predictions were right.

Yes, I am interested to see how this ends up in the long run. I highly doubt we'll be any wetter or cooler then 2009... so I'm planning on treating this season like last year. I have a feeling my plants in raised beds will do better then everything else will.

We'll all gather back here I'm sure and let them know how right/wrong they were.

But like Ridgerunner said, don't base any ideas on this one model... I would need to see 3 or 4 more to believe it!

I am SORTA taking this in to account....

I am going to use the redneck wall-o-waters on as many peppers and maters as I can to increase yield, but I was going to do this anyway. Colorado weather is very unpredictable, so I can't go wrong taking that extra step regardless.

Well, if I read it correctly it appears they are saying that New England will have warmer than normal temperatures.
Even though we had alot of rain we did have some very hot days, we went to the beach at least 15 times last year.
Either way, I already ordered some seeds that were recommended by people in the same zone that did well for them in the cooler, wetter summer last year so hopefully I have it covered between them and the seeds I usually plant.
