Talked to county extension agent's office, all I need is 2 cups dry soil $15 and 2 weeks to test soil. Sounds like a great deal to me.

That will give you a breakdown of the soil. You can have very rich soil but if it doesn't drain you still have sick trees. Sick trees = dying trees and that means no orchard.
