I have some sheep that are matted up, These are hair sheep, but they didn't shed out very well. I have no shears, so took scissors to them.

I am so excited to have this equipment, it is making thing so much easier! We have run the sheep through several times and they are getting used to it.
Mary, I straddle the sheep, pick it up by hanging it's front legs over my right arm and holding it's head with my left hand. then my husband gives it the wormer medicine. Giving vaccinations will be easier, I just raise up a pinch of skin and give it subcutaneously. We work them between the 2nd guillotine gate and the end gate. It is still hard work, but we are getting better at it and the sheep are getting more used to it. SOOOOOOO much easier than chasing them around a pen. We get filthy dirty, hot and sweaty and as an added bonus, one or more have peed on my leg, it ran down into my shoe.

When I find a bargain like this I always think about Alex. :rainbowflower

A friend in California is coming to Texas for a vacation, her and husband are going to be in a KOA campground north of Dallas. Their son and family are bringing their RV too, but will go home after a week or two. My BYH friend and husband are staying longer, she is bringing sheep shears and is going to teach me how to use them. Can't wait!

oh my! i thought i was the only crazy person around here (who would use scissors to cut grass seeds out of a 50x30ft garden). :) some good sheers are not that expensive. too bad you can't use hedge clippers. :)

@baymule Great finds. Sure will make things easier. @ninnymary there is plenty of space in panels to wok through, to give shots and even oral meds as head is usually sticking out the far end and stanchion Squeezes them in an upright position tight enough they can't turn and wiggle much at all.
The stanchion doesn’t squeeze, the tilt table does. I don’t have a tilt table, they are $$$$$ LOL
