There are no rules for artistry, I've come to suspect.

The creative person will pick up a flower, set it back down, select another ...

I will have absolutely no clue how the second flower was different from the first!

Well then, you need rules.

Discipline and punitive measures quickly brought for straying, if you might. It's the only way and common sense.

I have rules for flower arranging. Yes. They are based on the definitions of "face flowers" and "spike flowers." Use both ... additionally, use 4+ species. Stems of similar lengths. Then, every color available.! Finally, allow the bokay 12 hours to even itself out in the vase.

I suspect that you are in violation of all of these rules, Thistle'. Safest recourse may be to claim artistic license and wave your hand dismissively.

Steve :)

My sister has come and gone. I made three bouquets, one for a neighbor who had a bad accident and is home now from the rehab hospital, and two for my house. I have a new phone and for some time couldn't figure out why I couldn't send pictures to my email, but finally figured it out.
So here they are.

My neighbors bouquet...

Pink Japanese anemone with some fall foliage. The pitcher was dads mom's, she passed away before I was born so I never knew her. It has been in the family for over 100 years.

There is just something about an anemone that I find irresistible.

@thistlebloom Well aren’t you quite the little Martha Stewart. I love all of those! Love the Black eyed Susan’s and how those chocolate cosmos pick up their brown centers.

That pitcher is lovely and so neat that it’s an heirloom. I just know that grandmother would have loved you so. :love
