@Nyboy and others, I want to tell you all about what you are talking about........It's a grey area, where people in same family can't tell what is theirs and what is yours......It happens allot....it happens in parents and children. When children get married and go off on their own, parents think, what they like they should be able to have....it's an "all in the family" thing...... It happens often in many families..

My mother was like that and because of that I reacted opposite. If I borrowed something I replaced it with 2 of the same thing, quickly..... I wouldn't take from anyone....so my daughter grew up and needed a vacuum cleaner.. she borrowed mine and never returned it....she said it was hers....

Be patient with all your family members....They are not with you forever.....

When my mom left after a visit I went out and bought another thing that was missing....I borrowed my vacuum back from my daughter until I just bought a new one...I got all my little things back when they both passed away and now have doubles....to sell off....

Family is more precious than material things...for sure.... I would give up all my stupid things to have them both back with me....

I just love all your posts, They are very cute and boy, could I tell you some funny stories but please keep in mind in the background of your mind that family really is the most important thing.

Now let me tell you. My mother "snatched" pictures that I left in storage in her house when I remarried...... she must have gone through everything that I left..... I was getting something out of her bedroom that was always stored there on a visit with her years later.... "winter cold socks". What did I find??? My pictures from my first marriage in frames and all...... They were gone from my boxes of storage in her basement.... So at that time I took them away and had them with me.....I took the old picture out and used them in my home..... Well along the way I forget all about them....don't know where they went over the years. When she passed away some 45 years later...I found my picture frames in a plastic bag in her dresser drawer..... Every last one of them.....She thought she has a stake in them....I got them in the end...but I don't have her...I never argued about them it was an unspoken thing.....but these things do happen...

Funny now frame story. My grandmother did not want to be buried in the ground. She paid a outrages amout of money for her and my grandfather to be laied to rest inside, they where drawers stacked one on top of the other. On the outside you hung a framed photo of the person. When my grandfather died my older sister wanted to handle the grave photo. She picked out a photo of grandfather as a young man in this army unform, and placed it in a nice wooden frame. 2 months later it was my grandfather's birthday, my mother asked that we all get togather at his grave then go for lunch after. We all met in the parkinmg lot and went inside togather. When we got to his grave we where shockled at what we saw. The frame was missing, the photo all crumped with a hole poke though where string was used to hang photo. Sadly my 1st thought was even in death my grandmother was cursing my grandfather. I thought she was doing some voodoo curse. My sister furious turned to my grandmother telling she had no right to take that frame she paid for it. Nana realizeing she was in big trouble started screaming at the top of her lungs robbery call the police over and over. Some of surrounding frames wher silver some antique all much more valuable to steal. My sister tells my grandmother if she doesn't give back the frame she never talk to her again. My grandmother used to play my sistert like a fiddle making her drive her everywhere. That evening my grandmother called my sister there was a miracle from god she came home to find the frame on her bed. God must of returned it.

Good Heavens!

You know how olde people are. Things may get pared down to just the basics. I think it might be defense against the opposite -- second childhood.

been out of town the last couple days up in conover, dang the smoke from the wildfires is horrible visibility is 2 miles at best..

we had a great time while they were here. very nice drive on monday took country roads all the way and the blue ridge parkway. we almost hit a buck one of the biggest racks i have seen on him.
we got to fancy gap a bit early so drive up to hillsville,va and looked around, drove over to the farmers market i have seen many times driving by on the interstate. that was disappointing only 1 vendor open everything fresh was from washington or california except for the pumpkins we did pick up a couple big bags of 13 bean soup mix, pickled peaches and a big bag of grapes those were delicious.

drove back towards to fancy gap, brother asked if that was a Christmas tree farm, sure is thats just one of many it's a new cash crop for the area.

we finally got to the place i wanted to stop for lunch, www.thegapdeli.com/ it was not i was expecting, it was a very quaint 11 table down to earth restaurant, great food great serve, the waitress made you feel right at room, she even sat down and talked with dad for a bit< that made his day> if i could 11 stars i would. we have planned a weekend get away to go back...

drove more country roads back home, we had a wonderful dinner prepared by the dw crab stuffed squash... off the hook... sat around drank a few beers.. enjoyed the evening catching up.

tuesday we had a late start it was ds birthday, so once he got out of bed we drove down to oak ridge,nc and had lunch at bistro 150 <his choose> a little hole in the wall. dang i need to get out more often, another great lunch. we came back brother helped me move a couple things outside, they had to leave to return the car and get themselves ready to fly home in the morning.. lots of hugs a few tears looking forward to either visiting them or them coming out again..
