@digitS' the Michigan infection rate is not declining as much as i'd hoped several weeks ago. still pretty high here too, contrary to other places. so sign yet that it is declining and am not even sure it has leveled off yet or not.

i go by the hospitalization rates as that shows where the results are ending up and current doctor and nurse burnout rates are pretty terrible:

DD had a friend who thought she had a blood clot the other night and so she went to the emergency room. People in the hallway on gurneys. No empty rooms in the emergency department. This is not the covid area, so there are a lot of sick people with other things. Today the covid admission is 111, down from 117 yesterday, was 120s, 130s, 140s, and I think highest covid admission was 157, so admissions for covid to the hospital are down. How many sick and not being admitted who knows.

i'm partway through a book titled _The Premonition_ by Michael Lewis (i'd read anything by him that he writes since he's managed to make something like baseball interesting to me he could probably do it about anything). pretty interesting read so far. yes, it is about pandemics including the current one.

sad to say it kinda fizzles out in an odd way to me and not one of his best books but perhaps it fits the situation too which may go that ways. we'll see...

It has been one week since I had my boost.

Didn't hurt. Went home and only thought of the arm when I thought about having gone to get the shot. About 5 days later, I noticed some aching in my shoulder. It took me a moment to realize that the ache was not in the arm with the shot. The ache since seems to have gone away ... :)

Of course, my forehead has been fastened to the refrigerator door 24/7 with the other kitchen magnets since the vaccination!

I'll be okay ...

;) Steve

the situation in MI continues to get worse. dunno what the heck people think is going to happen if they send kids to school without masks or vaccines, but it is what happened and now we have 5000+ cases a day ending up being detected. hospitalizations are going up too and that's the sad part as almost all of those could have been avoided. are we going to break the healthcare system yet another time this winter? what happens when burnout is so bad that everyone just stops going to work? oh yeah, maybe that's what has been happening in general? ok, when that happens we have shortages and everyone gets to complain about those so then they feel better. doesn't solve anything...

I lost a friend over this damn issue. She unfriended me on FB (yes, I like FB) and on another forum we both are on. Its sad - the discussion wasn't about the vaccine, but the potential for mandatory health records. She liked it to Nazi Germany.

I likened it to my pages and pages of WHO shot records for me starting in 1955, all the way thru my booster shot a week ago. I think everyone should have records of shots they have had. Hubs has no idea of any of his shots and no idea if he had any of the diseases (he's older than me). I would not like to be double vaccinated....

I can see how the Civil War happened. Never seen anything like this vaccine and not vaccine thing.

it's pretty silly. so many of them would take a vaccine for many other things a few years ago without any issue at all, but suddenly it's become an issue because politicians and media are making it one. are they speaking from stances of knowledge, caring or being civil themselves? no. the numbers and science are pretty good on many of the vaccines available (there are more than one kind including those that are more like the traditional ones in the past that many people have had).

if you feel no love for others and are being incited to get into a civil war i'd say that you've left Christianity behind.
