In extremely cold weather I do add some HEAT to the gas tank. I certainly do not add it to every fill. Perhaps three times a winter depending upon how the gas gets between fills. Keeping it closer to half full at all times prevents problems with water. Cold weather causes condensation in the gas tank, it's not always a bad gas station.

I use it in my cars. DH had an argument in the 1990's about using the diesel heat in our diesel truck. This was when we were driving in -20 F weather. The fuel froze, we had to have it towed and applied
"salamanders" to thaw out the fuel line. I won the argument and we use that now in extreme temperatures. $1-$2 is cheaper that having it towed and fixed.
Heet treats 10 gallons of gasoline. We live in a humid climate. If you live where it is dry you probably don't need it.
