I didn't do much today, BUT, I put all of the 6 new bolts on my tow wagon, and removed the ragwool blanket and tarp from around the ground where the wind had removed them from my peach tree...:somad...
and I found the 2 shelter halves plus 2 supports that I Think go to the smaller A-Frame tent, But, should be able to hold up the canvas for one night.
I intend to use 4 pieces of rebar as stakes, put in at a very steep angle out from the tree, and tie the tent canvas to all of the them in the corners.
It should be enough to protect the blossoms.
I Promise to take pictures of before I cover and afterwards.
This little peach is LOADED with blossoms!!! :love
I have one tomato up and I HOPE That my peppers didn't dry out!
I had to water my grapes and the blueberry, and I have a cleaned out 2 liter bottle for this, plus I gave the sweet potatoes more water, too.
I filled up the tray under the tomatoes to almost 2 inches high. They have a 10" high dome specifically bc I Don't want to have to transplant them any time soon.
SERIOUS seed starting is really new to me.
I couldn't seem to get some starter soil soaked, so I super soaked it 5 days ago.
Apparently super soaking in a seed starting tray and walking away...works. It's all ready for more seeds.

Freeze alert, 2AM-9AM Saturday morning. 🥶 These are definitely worth saving:
ONLY a gardener would drive their car over to take a picture of a tree.

Got the shelter halves over my peach tree yesterday evening. HEAVY FROST this morning on it, but I put the ragwool blanket on First, then the cotton canvas tent, so it can breathe until I get a chance to remove it.
ALL of the tent stakes were spoken for, so I used old rebar. I had to pound them in at a steep angle.
I wasn't sure about them holding on the north side, so I used the handy dandy baling twine (I have a great stash of that!) to secure it. Enjoy!

TONIGHT is another full moon, the "Pink Moon":
When I click on the link I always get this long winded link, SO, I search:
farmers almanac, Pink Moon
and then I get a short link, see above.
Anyway, look for the brightest at a little bit after 8 EDT, 7CDT, maybe you won't see it if you live MDT or PDT, but look at dusk, anyway.
"Did you know that the full Moon sets the date for Easter? April’s full Moon has religious significance as well. In Christianity, it’s known as the Lenten Moon if it’s the last full Moon of winter (before the spring equinox) or the Paschal Full Moon if it’s the first ecclesiastical full Moon of spring (after the equinox)."

Since it's late I will take a moment to indulge in a definition.
I don't actually Fold my tents into packages, I have over the years learned to fold a tent to a size where I can roll it up, tie it up, and tie on a strap to carry.
I first learned about neat and tidy camping from an older girl scout who showed us how to handle a bedroll, where you fold your clothes inside while you fold IT, then start rolling from the end as tight as is humanely possible.
Tents are exactly like fitted sheets, bc neither wants to fold right. Canvas tents also keep their ropes On them, they have to be folded in as well, and best done towards the middle of the first fold.
You have to do your best to flatten out what you can, with each fold your sheet/tent becomes more like a rectangle, and then you can visually decide if folding in half or in thirds make sense, and the finished fold should bring you to a reasonable size to roll.
I was considering this bc DD's wanted my direction when refolding the wall tent, the baker tent and the fly, of course the fly is the easiest, being a rectangle to start with.
The other tents never play fair, although the A Frames aren't too hard.
When you fold you always fold in the messiest side first, so that the finished side is neat and tidy.
I do the same with my bedsheets, and I put them away with fitted sheet on the bottom, pillowcases next and top sheet on top.
It's only hard to do when a cat is laying on them...
