I took a shot of my shelter halves and stopped by the tractor on my way back to the tent storage area of the Lodge. Soldiers would each carry 1/2 and then put them together for a 2 man tent that had a back and 2 pieces that connected in the front.

April weather is fickle around here too. Like the pic of the birds shown by POW on the sites front page was taken during April in the middle of a wild snow storm that hit the Pacific Northwest and then ran off clear across the US and blasted each state width snow and ice. Ya know one of the Arctic Blast storms. 😳

I'm gonna go ahead and cover it.
Good practice for the future.
I will not be buying any smudgepots---look at the price?!?!?
Oil -burning device
  • A smudge pot (also known as a choofa or orchard heater) is an oil -burning device used to prevent frost on fruit trees. Usually a smudge pot has a large round base with a chimney coming out of the middle of the base. The smudge pot is placed between trees in an orchard.

After tonight the lowest low is 48 degrees F for the next 2 weeks. Average last frost is April 22nd, and that's next week.

Weeeeellllllllll...I "Tented" my tree, aGAIN....it only got down to 36 degrees, but I'll live with that. Gotta take Down the tent today, highs in the 60's, light breeze, and rain tomorrow. Don't wanna have to dry out the tent before I fold/roll it up again.

Ducks OMGoodness… April is an exhausting month, so fickle can’t decide to rain , snow or allow the warm sunshine to warm your garden. In a few weeks Mother Nature will take over and all your peach trees with have lots of buds. We have the same issues here with the peach farmers. They have oodles and oodles of peach trees. In fall they have all you can pick signs out for anyone who wants to pick their own peach’s from heaven so yummy.
