:frow Hi there! :frow

I will need a bit of EGGING on as I have never grown EGGPLANT before (or as we Brits call it AUBERGINE !!!! :D :gig :gig

Mine are now about 3" high & in pots in my greenhouse I think I will plant a few outside but keep some under cover unless the promised heat wave happens. The same with the peppers & chillies......!! I don't trust our weather here.

I agree it's EGGciting! :coolsun ANY tips for an EGGPLANT virgin??????? :bow

Its my first time too. I thought my plants were a failure. I planted them in an area that I put chicken poo in and it stunted the growth of a lot of my garden. Shoot, I planted these way back in Feb. All of a sudden they have just taken off like crazy.

Hey Texan,

I'm a fellow Texan, once removed! I'm now in WA.

Anyhoo, I used to grow eggplant in the house in a sunny window. It served as a georgous house plant and a food source.

I never did anything special to it, it thrived well in TX.

Good luck!

Im trying some Lavender aubergine, this season. Although, as with all such plants except for tomatoes, I have a devil of a time getting them to sprout.

I picked them yesterday. Mine had flowers on them long before I had any eggplants. Those flowers were on there for what seemed like a few weeks. Iffin I get another one (I am sure I will) to make an eggplant I will post photos.

eggplants are seriously one of my favorite vegetables ..the way they look ..all the types ....colors the shape is just downright sexy..and they have no freaking nutrition!!!

how could something so beatiful and tasty not have anything in it????

this is just tragic to me

Huh, that is disappointing, isn't it? I guess the good size is that it's filling and doesn't appear to have calories either.
