I was thinking about juicing and an older lady I know.

Juice is all the rage. DW knows people who make it out of the darnedest mix of things!

The older lady has a garden. She has a meal of all these vegetables, saving every stem and peeling. Those go in a pot of water to make broth. Tossing out the peelings, she puts in pasta and there is soup!

She may be a vegetarian, I've never asked her. She sure thinks about having an inexpensive and healthy diet.

I made vegetable broth like that before. I am not sure what I think of it and now it makes me feel wasteful not saving all my peelings and things and have read where people who do not have a garden, they freeze all the outer leaves of things, cut ends of carrots, onion skins, potato peelings and then when they have enough frozen, they can make broth.

I do not understand people who do not garden either. I have neighbors also that just spend all their time killing weeds and killing things. The food, the health benefits of the exercise, the relaxing time of being outside, I don't understand why people would not want to do this. They would love for me to give them fresh food, but to grow food of their own is just too much trouble. They love sitting on the couch and watching TV and ordering food. I feel sorry for them, but there is no helping them. A couple of neighbors have watched me and started gardening. One a man and he has equipment and 2 sons, but they just give up and never finish. A woman who has a small area and has worked hard and produced a lot of nice things, but this year, just for some reason decided not to grow anything. She is always asking to have fresh rhubarb and I let her cut what she wants and a couple of years ago I gave her a start so she could have her own. I asked her this spring how her rhubarb was and she said she never got it planted and it died.

I have a 50% success rate in my kids picking up gardening. Kid#1 has a garden at his girlfriends parents house, since they weren't going to put in a garden this year.
He's very health conscious and likes to eat fresh vegetables every day.

My other kid hasn't shown the slightest interest. In fact he avoids vegetables if he can. The two of them have always been like night and day, I don't know how it happened that the pendulum swung so widely between two kids.

glad somebody caught that too.......what happens on the west coast, needs to stay on the west coast... on the other hand if Utah can have multiple wife',s why not the west coast with multiple husbands? the west coast is so expensive you need all the income they can just to make ends meet.
