That sure is a lot of amendments per plant. I wonder what it costs per plant to use all that stuff?

Other than the worm castings, I think I could gather up the rest pretty easily. Digging a 2 foot hole for each plant is the thing that would kill me. :p

Cynthia's farm produces all the produce for Manresa restuarant. The chef was on Martha Stewart and he took Cynthia along. That's how she got famous. She was later featured in Sunset magazine and that's how I came to know about her. Her old farm was just a tiny thing. Obviously things have gone well for her and she now has a hugh spread and has really grown her business. She's about an 1 hr. 15 min. from me. She offers a 25% discount on gift certificates in December which you can use yourself so it's a good deal. It's nice knowing that you will find whatever tomatoe plants you are looking for all in one place.

As for all that stuff in the planting hole, well one year I didn't have any fish heads. I swear my tomatoes didn't do as well. Even my daughter noticed it. So it must be true! ;)

I don't bother digging the hole that deep. Just too much work. It really doesn't cost that much. But maybe that's me since I don't have that many plants. Fish heads are pricey. I usually can get salmon for $1.00 but I cut them up in halves.
