I bet there aren't many bugs in Antarctica. :\ Not a lot of gardening either though.
My maples are turning, no hard frosts yet, so the tomatoes are still hanging in there. I feel like I won the lottery or something, so many tomatoes and peppers to deal with.
I hope everyone on my Christmas list likes salsa.

The flowers are still pumping out blooms and this year I've made several bouquets of Japanese anemone, usually I only get unopened buds before the frost takes them out.
Still sleeping with the windows open. :)

Fall? What Fall, we are having our indian summer. Heat wave here. It was 90° in Alameda yesterday. So hot and we don't even have a fan!

Debating if I should go work out today. There is a shaded outdoor area next to the water so it may be nice.

It was a totally perfect September day here in south-est, central-est Wisconsin. I was outside for most of the day, enjoying the weather, but working to clean up the yard around two garages and a 4 unit apartment.

It's 37* this morning with a wee nip in the air. Predicted to rise to 71* as a high today.

Another near perfect day. We had City inspections at two rental properties this morning. Everything went better than expected which means absolutely great. This afternoon we worked outside taking down the tree on the (once disputed) shed before starting to remove the barn wood siding followed by a visit from two sheriff deputies. Seems the neighbor (ya'll remember him?) called them to have me arrested for "malicious damage to property" -- my property on my side of the building.

Showed the officers the Court orders and a County satellite map showing the line through the shed delineating my side of the property. The officers said they needed to know the Court's disposition for the shed before they could do anything. (There was none, but officers knew better.) We said we intended to continue removing the siding and that we considered all property still on our side of the shed abandoned and intended to remove it since we had informed the neighbor over 2 months ago that he needed to remove his personal property from our side of the shed interior and he chose to do nothing.

The officers suggested that we shouldn't remove any of the property left on our side, but stated that the neighbor couldn't remove any of the property either or he'd be guilty of trespassing. Impasse with property soon to be open to the weather.

The officers finally left saying they could say nothing about us stopping work on the shed, BUT the neighbor could bring suit in court for a "Stay of action". The Court said the original deed line was the property line and addressed each issue their attorney used to try to get the land with his Orders and the terms "With prejudice" meaning they can never take us back to court regarding the boundary line.

And so the adventure continues. . .

Today I took down the plastic mesh fence around what was the failed garden. To ass insult to injury, rabbits chewed through the plastic so they could visit mayhem upon what few things struggled to survive. :idunno Oh well. There was vines and weeds all grown up in the mesh. It was a mess. Now I can run the bush hog over it and get it ready for a REAL fence.

Beautiful blue sky day with a temp in the 70's.
Skipped out early on work and picked up a couple of deli sandwiches and ginger ale, then unloaded the truck at home and surprised dh with a proposal to load up the bikes and go for a small trail ride and a picnic. :love

It was so fun! We haven't done a fun thing spontaneously all summer. We stopped and had our dinner by the lake and spotted a couple of mountain goats on the cliff side across the water. It was my first spotting, and I'm glad I tossed the binoculars in the backpack.:)
