Steve, I am sorry your step family is such a bunch of losers. Squabbling amongst themselves over material possessions, I call it vultures picking the bones of the dead. Ugly people bickering over things as the prize pile grows smaller. Greed is ugly.

Unfortunately not always greed. Crap from when they were kids and/or young adults. Mom’s family fought over greed. My Mom had to threaten to sue and have 3rd party look over books held by youngest. She said farm had no $$$ to keep grandma in decent place-she embezzled what she could. Dad’s side fought over keep sakes (silver dollars and old worthless shot guns). Dad had to threaten to sue IF everything didn’t go on auction block. Let family all have equal chance to buy. Funny part was 2 cousins (sisters) bid against each other thinking they were bidding against my Dad. At that time, silver dollars were worth $1. Dad had sent them to his folks and they kept instead of buying things.
