Yup. On the few occasions when I've seen them that big, they were double yolk. :D

I always think my large eggs will be double yolkers- but I've only had one or two turn out to be... keep us posted. Aren't your chickens just starting to lay? That is a really big egg for new chickens!

My Barred Rocks are two year old. The other four are just starting to lay. I was hoping the EE's would give me some green or blue eggs, but so far only brown ones are being laid.

That explains it! It looks like the eggs my old girls are laying. I had a long wait for my EE's- but they are so much fun! I love those green eggs- still hoping for a blue....

I am thinking the EE's are not laying yet. The most eggs I get in a day are 4. All Brown. So... maybe there is still a chance I will get some other colors here soon. Supposedly they hatched on July 31, 2010 same as the Red Sex links I got that same day from the feedstore.

My EE that hatched in February still hasn't started laying, though all of my young birds this year started very late, they are nearly a year old and just getting going. It might still be a while for yours, I have heard that EEs can take a long time to start.
