Staying in any one position too long is just not possible for me. Whatever the position, there is too much discomfort. I claim it's 45 minutes but it may be twice that long, depending on the position and how recently I was last maintaining that "posture" ;). Every change will awaken me.

After awhile, I just can't return to sleep! If I was horizontal for 6 hours, it's surprising. Five, I consider adequate. Too often, it's less. I have no idea how much "real" sleep I'm running on. Without a work schedule, I tend to fall asleep after meals and I am really limiting caffeine so there is not much stimulant in my diet. Always, a breakfast! Other meals may be catch as catch can soon but I'm up so early, there is really no excuse for me skipping breakfast. Back in the lazyboy - another 30min of sleep. I may be able to get away with this even during my busy season.

During the summer, I claim that 8:45am begins my "lunch hour." Often, it does! Winter, I usually have eaten before 11, nothing precise. I've always been a morning person and by 10:30, I have usually been up for 6 or 7 hours. Dinner is likely to also be early. We are fairly consistent with bedtime. Routine, I suppose ... but, I blame it on growing up on a farm with milk cow's and accepting very early that the routine required would be my lot in life. Hey, it got me through school okay and I was never fired from a job :)!

My doctor said to take magnesium 2 times a day to help with sleep. A calcium and magnesium supplement is good for many aches and pains. Everyone needs vitamin D and b12-can't get enough in our diet. If you are taking cheap drug store vitamins you are wasting your money.

Really Cat I always thought a vitamin is a vitamin. Did not know there is a difference.
The cheap ones are not absorbed well by the body. The cheap calcium and C are poorly absorbed. One of the best brands is "Pure encapsulations." The hard tablets don't even melt. I use capsules or drops.

Most of the supplements, even the most expensive ones that claim to be the purest, most potent, etc. end up in our toilets daily. One's body can only absorb and use so much , then eliminates the rest.

As my DD-the nurse says-makes for expensive urine.

@Nyboy, when spring gets here, I'll get you in touch with some farmers. When they get done working you that day, may not end till midnight, you will sleep like a baby....may be so tired, you may wet your pants rather than get up....... :)

Seed I work 7 days a week, I put 60 to 70 hours a week. My body is tired, the brain or what ever controls sleep, willn't give the body what it wants.

I have heard the expensive urine quote before.I challenge you to set up a good vitamin schedule for a month and see if some of the aches and pains don't diminish and you energy level doesn't increase. I get tired of taking vitamins every so ofter.my doctor had a blood test done measuring by vitamin levels and many were way down. Since adding some important ones I feel better more clear headed and have more energy. Definitely the aches have diminished. As we age our bodies do not absorb as much as it should. We cannot eat the quantities of food that we would need to get everything we need. I bet if you eliminate sugar and wheat you will also feel a lot better.

Only 60 - 70 hours per week ? On my ranch I put in more hours than that every week - from dark to past dark every week. Now that I am retired I still put in 60 -70 hours remodeling the wreck of a house ( former owners were not kind to the house and too they didn't like to be foreclosed upon because they didn't pay their mortgage payments ) that we purchased. :hu
