so lucky
Garden Master
It has rained a lot here starting Friday, every day downpours, but still warm weather. Today when I went to the garden to observe the holes we dug for peppers and tomatoes, now filled with water, I realized the rest of the garden was perking right along. Pole beans are up, bush beans are up, cucumbers are up, baby peppers on the Marconis, several ripe and almost ripe strawberries, kale and chard is ready to start picking, broccoli has baby heads on it.
I picked the strawberries then covered the whole patch with green netting to keep the birds out. Also picked chard and the little broccoli for supper, as it was trying to flower already.
Unfortunately the weather has turned hot and humid, so that takes some of the joy out of gardening.
