Thistle', your weather information is under the "official" category: Hoodoo.

There are Hoodoo Mountains in Latah County; a hundred miles north a Hoodoo Mountain near Spirit Lake; an unmarked Hoodoo Lake on the little road up to the south bank of the Pend Oreille River; and, the post mistress told me 40 years ago that the Chilco Mountains were called the Hoodoos when she was a child ...

With that sign post and our June weather: "Hoodoo, they think they're Foolin'?"

The federal government had the idea that the states of Washington and Montana would share a border. At least, that was the thinking of the bureaucrats, according to some historical accounts.

The politicians in the Washington territorial capital of Olympia had no interest in having more timber and mining lands to administer, evidently. They mounted sufficient resistance to the idea that northern Idaho was briefly an orphan.

Then, the area was forced on Boise by default.

You gotta take the bird's eye view ... or, just look through the hole in the bagel:

The Weather Service uploaded this image, this morning. Ain't it pretty? Maybe it will snow!

I see seagulls at the grocery store all the time in the parking lot and some flew over my house the other day. They are always in parking lots at stores looking for French fries and things dropped, especially Coeur d' Alene.

Today was a great respite from 90s temps and nearly the same humidity levels. Wish I could share. I suspect Nyboy will be getting some relief in about two days.

No freeze warning last night, and when I went to bed at 9 the sky was overcast and threatening thunderstorms.
Got up to frost on the lawn, and the thermometer said 32. Dang it. I went out and watered but it was all uncovered so we'll have to see what got damaged later on today.
