Don't cry, Miss Mary....if they are hemales, just take them right back where you got them, get your money back and never buy from there again. You paid for females, correct? So, only accept females and return all males from whence they came.

EEs are pretty much the mutt of the so called breeds, though I hesitate to even call them a breed. They come in all shapes, sizes and conformations, so I wouldn't panic just yet. Could be it's a hen with just really crappy features. :D

Found out recently that the 12 Pullets that we got from tractor supply actually turned out to be 10 pullets and 2 roo's. I was planning to get a Roo anyway so its no big deal for me. The other is going to a friends house who needs a Roo also.

@Lickbranchfarm those were vent sexed right after they were hatched so there is a margin of error in that process. 2 out of 12 is not that outrageous a margin of error for that process.

I like the way you go with the flow, but Mary is in a totally different situation. In your situation no big deal but in hers it is. I feel sorry she has to go through this.

Thank you for your kind words and support Ridge. A big hug to you. I’m working on letting it go. After all there are bigger problems. I am blessed either way.

I am voting both are hens. I am no expert, but interested in chickens and had a couple once, and worked on a chicken farm. Lol. I found a picture of an Easter Egger hen. At least the picture says it was a hen.

Well I wasn't making lite of her situation, my post was to make reference, even people claiming to be in the business can get it wrong. If the seller said they would refund the purchase price that's what needs to be done, if they in fact turn out to be roo's. My money says the black one is a pullet and the white one is a Roo.

Hope everything works out in your favor Mary.

I still think the white is a hen, but I have a lot to learn before I ever bring chickens in my yard the way I make pets out of them and if I had a rooster, I would be selling my place to move to the country to keep him.
