I would say this man is at least partly responsible for why the public is so easily manipulated today.I want to point out a time in history when this modern invention of radio communication was absolutely dominant. There was an asshole by the name of Orson Wells that took advantage of this single source of data and used it for a privateering and possibly profitable purpose. This was 1938. He scared the bejesus out of people who gave weight to the channel by which they got their information. Today, the same joke would be believing NBC news and a few other ardent distributors of "percieved" facts.
I wouldn't say that Orson Welles is the reason people are easily manipulated by media, but he was certainly the first one to demonstrate how damaging & widespread that manipulation could be. George Orwell published "1984" not long after... perhaps they drank from the same "well"?I would say this man is at least partly responsible for why the public is so easily manipulated today.
