Update from the Crazy H-Bar Ranch; Good day to all the California Quaker's.

After the quakes, our eggs haven't been scrambled.

It's amazing how the different colors keep coming. We have about 6 dozen in the frig if anyone needs some.

Just took a walk through the garden... wow have things changed. The plants that are in, are growing nicely. The zucchini bread plants have came a long way from seedlings to having buds on them already.

The Sugar pumpkins and yellow squash look awesome.

The herbs and tomatoes are almost ready to go into the garden, just a few more days.

Finally, after 2 years of no buds our Ruby Red has a couple of nice clusters that were hiding, I can't wait...

The apple blossoms look great, I hope we get some apples this year.

"Millions of Peaches, Peaches for me" lol.

And, can someone explain to me how a palm tree, obviously separated from its stump can still be growing?

Anyhoo, although things at the ranch can get a little stressful and rough (God will help us through it). But the garden and the chickens keep us going and add a little break from life's challenges. Just as Gastrointestinal tests always do, this too shall pass.

Have a blessed day my friends. And to my California friends and family always remember, keep your head and hands inside the car and please remain seated until this ride comes to a full and complete stop! Thanks and come again!

It looks like thing are going well at your ranch, Hosspak!

About the palm tree, could it have roots growing out of the side of the trunk? I know that some plants stalks or branches can be set on their side and you can get baby plants out of them that way. I don't have much experience when it comes to palms though, being in this Great White North.

Update from the Crazy H-Bar Ranch; I'm typing this update quietly because Mrs. H-Bar had a few last night.....no she's not hungover, but she couldn't pronounce it last night!

So anyway, we got the rest of the tomatoes in the ground today; Romas, Aromas, Beefsteaks, Oregons, Super, and Del. Cherry.

Here's another picture of the zucchini bread plants... I've never had any plants that are this dark green.

Almost every onion set has poked it's stem out into the sun, I hope I don't have to wait long to taste them.

It is interesting to see that you have grapefruit and peaches and apples growing. For some reason I thought that peaches and apples needed cold days. Are they special types that do well in Sunny California?
Wow your garden is sure weed-free! I have weeds when nothing else is growing.

Well I did buy them here....so the apples are supposed to grow here and I'm hoping as the trees get older their production increase. The grapefruit is a ultra dwarf, it had a full size fruit on it as we walked through Home Depot and ate it in the store (yummy), the 1st year it only had gave us 2 fruits then no flowers at all last year. Now we have a half dozen so far. OMG, the peaches are amazingly bountiful, I didn't think for a dwarf tree it would produce like that, overwhelmed us the 1st year and this year looks even better.

Everyone says that about the weeds, lol. I should have showed videos of all the work that started last November.

Greetings and Happy Easter to all our family and friends from all of us at the Crazy H-Bar Ranch;

Today I prepped the last garden box. Because my baby sister delivered a flat of special seedlings for the garden. Included in there is; Indigo Blue tomatoes, Dads Sunset, Spicy Fish peppers?? And a bunch more that I can't remember right now...

Here are the zucchini plants we planted 3 weeks ago, and yes... those 2 zucchinis are over a foot long.

At the other side of the ranch it appears that the chickens are in the Easter spirit OR the Easter bunny really does eggsist. We currently have 11 laying hens and yesterday we collected 9 eggs, as usual. This morning we collected 15 eggs. So, if I do the chicken math right; 11 from 15 leaves 4 and 4 plus 9 is 13 and 13 minus 11 that leaves 2 uneggsplained eggs... So, it appears someone did OT last night... Or maybe it WAS the Easter Bunny!

HO HO HO! LET'S GO PLACES!!!

I found nine one day last week, and I only have 7 chickens. One of them had secretly made a nest and the others were contributing. Silly chickens.
