my favorite and oldest(35+yrs) tool is my metal handle square narrow bill(@6") shovel. i use it constantly as a digger and root cutter. i no longer use a tiller since i have a permanent raised bed garden. i do however have a older pro model ryobi trimmer/brushcutter that i have a mini tiller attachment for. it works extremely well but is hardly ever used. i enjoy all my tools and have many. they are so handy and i take care of them so that even cheap tools last for many years. jon:)

I still keep up with and sharpen my stirrup hoe regularly. I use it to do a quick sweep inbetween my plants to cut back and tear up any weeds I don't feel like bending over to pull. I find it most useful when the garden gets so thick in some areas I can't wiggle my way in to get some weeds out without crushing something I don't want to. That thing was the BEST investment. I really need to break and buy a new wood handle for it this season or next.

My next favorite would be my spade fork. It's new this year and I feel like I've been missing out on an amazing tool not having this early. I use it mainly for cleaning the animal pens and turning compost.... but man, it cuts the work I was doing before in more then half!

I still am holding out hope for a the day I HAVE a rich uncle.... then maybe I'd be able to dream about my John Deere pink tractor with all the attachments. Ahhhhh.... to dream! :mow
