Gas prices below $3/gallon?!

Here in NY I just paid $4.20 for gas.

I have passed by a good price for gas on my way into town, thinking I will fill up on my way back from errands...only to see it raised by 15 cents while I ran my errands!
Right now it is 2.89 most places around here.
