Going to see Chonda Pierce tonight

I was curious about who Ms Pierce is and read a little about her.

She certainly did have those challenges beginning very early in life.

The Wikipedia article probably doesn't do a very good accounting but it was fun learning how Minnie Pearl played an important part as an onstage model for her. My family tuned in to the Grand Ole Opry and laughed, probably too much, at Minnie and some of the antics. She remained a fun part of my childhood entertainment and continued so, long after I lost interest in whatever else was going on at Opryland.

In the days when she was in that 'country music review' she did songs by all the big names. She has a BEAUTIFUL singing voice and always does a couple of songs during her show. I was surprised to hear that she is the most awarded female comedian in history. I mean - she's GOOD - but most of the people I talk to say 'Chonda WHO?"
