The Stallions were for riding and battle.
The Mares were for driving.
A Great deal of their training was to get them to focus on the rider and not other "distractions."
I grew up thinking riding a stallion was like riding a killer whale, according to what the adults said about them. But I recently saw one of my favorite dog trainers riding his horse, an Andalusian stallion, demonstrating some stuff he can do with him. So I wondered, is it more common that we think that people ride stallions?

I wonder if Vegemite the horse is a stallion? A extremely well trained horse. I bet he opened the Australian Fair with a great horse act, I wish I could have seen it.
