Let's think this through. Single-hunts and fishes. Married-works on your mom's house and at home woodworking...... Why the change in life style? What is (who is) the changing dynamic???? :)

For me, build up of houses took away hunting places. Fishing became less important than playing sports with kids. Now that they are gone, need to develop a hobby, wonder if fishing would be fun? :ya

Gee? I'm so wonderful he can't stand to be away from me? Nope! I've offered to go hunting/fishing with him. I'm so beautiful he can't take his eyes off me? He doesn't want to get too far from my wonderful cooking? No and no.

Could it have something to do with his honey-dew lists?

I suppose he was more concerned with properly supporting a growing family and the things he did in his youth were put aside. Still, it is good to know that if necessary, he could put food on the table.

Hey, I can put food on the table! It is just that putting food on the table takes away from fishing on the lake. I can even put broccoli on the table after Benjamin Bunny eats all my plants in the spring - just that I didn't do the harvesting, dressing out, dry-aging.

Deep fried trout for breakfast, flaked yellow perch meat in salads, dove/quail/pheasants/ducks/geese in the baking dish . . . I tried bigger game. Had plenty of opportunity to fire at will. Will looked at me - fear in his eyes . . . what was I supposed to do? Went home & shot the livestock. You know, I didn't eat red meat for 3 years after I left farming. Figured I was responsible before and couldn't be anymore . . . finally, got over that.

Life's a compromise.

Steve, you make me want to take up fishing. Fresh blue gills, catfish, crappies, I just ate and I'm getting hungry.
