There is so much hate in the air here in NY right now. I don't want to turn on a TV, radio or look at a newspaper. Would not surprise me if there was public lynchings. Immigrants, places of worship and certain countries are being targeted with the hate. I strongly believe if you hate America then move somewhere else. The hate for Middle East. China, North Korea and Russia is draining. Is there a lot of hate where you live?

Yes, we have shootings, bombings, hangings every day-sometimes 3 or 4. So nobody think of moving here......

No, here fairly peaceful. Live near Fort Wayne that has huge spread in backgrounds from Amish to recent Asian immigrants. We can still identify the bad guys and support our police in getting them convicted. We still kill home invaders and robbers. (Guns in correct hands are a great deterrent to bad behavior) Amazing how requiring people to live by certain moral standards keeps an area safer. We do have our problems-drugs, lazy welfare people, etc but they are easy to spot and avoid.

A young friend just told me about her nephew getting targeted at school because he is of Mexican descent. Her own children were crying that their cousin might be sent back to Mexican. (The are all citizen, born here.) Directed hate towards little kids by little kids.

Hate is learned usually from adults. I am worried about my cleaning lady she is a citizen who is now in Mexico burying her mother. I hope Tue when she comes back she has no problems.

It's not as bad in my neck of the woods yet but we do have a big problem with drugs, road rage is on the rise and it seems when a lot of people have problems it's always someone else's fault. I agree children are the innocents they're taught hate, adults are the problem, they need to clean up their act, then and only then we will get back on the right track.

Being around so much hate is draining. Ny was always called the mixing pot because it had so many different types of people. Now it seems anyone different should be feared and hated.

I haven't heard much talk about the attack here, oddly enough. People just going on about their business for the most part. The opioid crisis is the huge thing here. People OD'ing left and right, rise in drug related crime and the foster system overwhelmed with children who were taken away from their parents. In the comments section of the news articles, there are always many who rant and say "let them die, they are a drain on the system". It breaks my heart, because they are sons, daughters, somebody's parents...they matter to someone. They got in over their head and can't get out. People are so cruel.

It surprised me to hear your report. I would have thought NY would not be that way. My DH has a cousin who lives in Queens. I will be curious to hear what she has heard.
