It was mid February when my mom who was 8 months and two weeks pregnant with me slipped and fell down icy steps.
She broke her leg and delivered me in a full leg cast poor woman. :(
She had 3 kids at home to take care of as well as a new infant.

My dad always said that that's where I got my gracefulness from. ;)

That is a tale told for many generations.

OMG, can you imagine that? Thank goodness my daughter only had some bruises and a scraped up arm, and the baby was OK! She was 6 months pregnant.

I fear you are right about inherited gracefulness, my daughter won the 'most trips to the ER', and was my only child that got to wear the casts. Both of her boys now have had broken bones and her daughter broke her arm on the playground last year.

My little grandson will be fine. He has to wear the boot and go back for an x-ray check in a month. Minor fractures in four bones that should heal quickly. I hope so, he does not like the boot!

When my mother was 8 months pregnant with me, she rode her horse from her farm to her general store in the dead of winter to get supplies for a New Year party. As she was riding along the road through the woods ( about 100 yards from the barn ) a tree exploded from the -70* cold, causing the horse to suddenly jump sideways, unseating her . Her foot got caught in a stirrup and dragged her back home when her maid saw her from the kitchen window and ran out to help her get back up. She had some bruising but was otherwise OK as there was over 3 feet of snow on the ground. I guess that I was fine too as I am typing this now. :frow
