Yes, it is, Nyboy, but I rather like the challenge of putting it off as long as possible. I didn't hold out nearly as long as I would have liked, but the grand-babies come first when being comfortable is at issue.

mom & i were talking about how late in the season we prefer to turn the heat on. around here we try to challenge ourselves to hold off until late October/beginning of November. we both confessed that we didn't make it even that far this year. started the heaters in September.

Whatever works? Who do you have to justify turning heat on to? If friend doesn't like it, point out the door and how it works. :)

I'm with Nyboy here. I justified turning on the heat when grands spent the night and the house started the evening at 62 degrees (F) with a projected outdoor temp later into the lower 40s. Without the grands sleeping over, I doubt I would have turned it on even yet....but again, I haven't turned it off either. Temperatures in the 80s are still to come this month.

we have been love the days in the mid 60's and nights in the upper 40's, looks like we might have to close up the house next 5 days are going to be in the upper 70's.

it's so nice not hearing the a/c running and mainly the power meter is barely moving....$$$$$$$$$$$$ in our pocket..
