hello from mid-michigan

valley ranch, last year was quite the snow season,
did you fare well? :) i'm also somewhat of a water
nerd, so i follow the various rivers and water issues
of the southwest (and have relatives who live out
there so it gives us stuff to talk about :) ).

they are busy working on fixing the oroville spillway so
i've been watching that (construction pron :) ) almost
every day (for a few minutes) and keeping up with
that news.

:welcome you are going to :love it here.

Annette

i'm still giggling a bit about this (and yes, i'm a guy, but
i do giggle i admit it) and all the beany stuff.

my goal for the next few hours is to go back and skim
the previous bean network threads...

garden work is done for the day, my bod is tired...

thank you Mary. i do love gardening and will pass along comments
to Mom too. she'll never touch a computer again so she calls me
Mr. Secretary! :)
What is the name of the thyme that is surrounding that cement ball? You will soon learn that fuchsia is my favorite color and I just love that thyme. The several different thyme's that I have tried are more lavenderish looking.

hi Mary,

i think it is just tagged by the greenhouse as a creeping
thyme, smells good when you weed or walk on it, but is too
tough for being used as a herb (we grow tons of several
thymes here and don't use any of them for cooking :) )...

i love the low growing habit, but it takes some time to
keep it weed free if you have any other plants around
it. i get out my ground pillows and lay down when i'm
weeding it so i can get real close to get the sprouting
grasses and other very fine weeds out of it.

i'm in bean mode right now, so i am not sure where the tags
are for the plants, but if/when i come across it and if it says
anything different i'll send you a note.

and actually, now that i'm thinking of it i'm pretty sure they
were mistagged plants because they were tagged as lemon
thyme and these surely aren't that...

Thanks flowerbug, I'll have to check out the creeping ones out. Those I haven't tried. We use thyme a lot when cooking steaks in a cast iron skillet.

Mary

i wasn't sure i should put it directly in the post
because i don't want to be nailed for spam
even if i'm not selling anything :) ).
How about having the link in your signature, @flowerbug ? Several members do that.

It's a very nice website :).

And, welcome to TEG!

The top picture is taken from the rail hot tub deck~the plastic roof to the right is over the hot tub~You can just see the front of the Bunkhouse~on a good year I could ski over the bunkhouse and land about 18' below it```
The second picture is out the back door~you'd have to swim up to get out```
The third is taken from the house deck at the lower side of the bunkhouse
