Ground pillows love that. Once I was laying on my stomach planting thyme in walkway to front door a neighbor driving by slammed on brakes and jumped out of car, they thought I had a heart attack.

@Nyboy not too many people can see into the gardens from the road here so luckily nobody does that.

i'm up to three pillows now so that if i really want to take a nap, i can... with the wind chimes and the birds about it is always so nice to be out there in the yard. so funny though, we have benches and a swing yet we hardly ever actually sit on any of them.

It's good to see you making yourself at home here, I enjoy your posts and loved seeing your gardens and your moms stonework. I have kind of a thing for stone, but have never done anything more than a few dry creek beds around the house with the abundant native rock.

i love all the rocks too! except when we have to move them again. so many have been moved several times. all brought in by hand from the trunk of the car or back of the truck. wheelbarrowed around.

at one time i thought i was going to get into splitting stone and after a few days of doing it and banged my hands once or twice i figured i'd leave 'em alone. i still daydream of having a laser that can cut them like a sculptor, but not involve mashing my hands.

if i had more elevation and a stream of any kind i'd be in heaven. i am a creature of rocks and water. as a kid i'd go around and make puddles my little lakes and then figure out how i wanted to drain them or make little dams. one neighbor got mad at me for all the little trenches i would make in the drive he used. the good old days.

So are you a hydrologist Flowerbug? Sounds like you have a natural bent that way.

Guess that I stumbled over them rocks too many times.

Creeks were favored when I was younger and on a fishing expedition. Now, creaks are less favored.

You "blab" just about the right amount and not about nothing.

no, but i certainly am a water nerd. any natural science is appealing to me. but strangely enough i ended up doing computer science for 15 years before i got free.

i follow the western water issues (out of interest and also because i have relatives out there in places).

but really the basic part is that water and life are so intertwined that when you think about it we are protoplasmic beings (beans ). if we had no spine we'd be sacks of water and other things mooping around...

i think of the whole system in terms of different flows and water is one of the most important flows.
