My 1st impression too. I thought I was asking that but must have worded it wrong So..... @jokr ….what color flowers did it have?My impression was that Jokr had observed the bees on the flowers before they went to seed, and had taken the picture recently of the resulting seed heads.

Thanks for the county extension office suggestion. It might be hard to make it to them (they probably work the same hours as I do), but I'm going to try. Thanks!Pretty sure it is not in the milkweed family. The fluff looks like a flower gone to seed. But then could emerge like that! Maybe your county extension office could quickly name it for you I do not see where bees would even find pollen in there! AND from a beekeepers wife in Eastern IA.
