Help! They're bulldozing the lawn...

As an expert....I'm hoping the landscaper isn't just putting an inch or two of topsoil down! Really they should work it in with the existing soil or you may have a rooting problem and it will wash away. Also seed with a Rye and Fescue mix, the rye will give you a quick start 7-14days germination and the Fescue will give you a nice hardy fill in ( 14-21day germination. )
You need to use something (as soon as their done) to keep the soil from eroding or it will cause the same problem over again. Really this should have all been done in the fall or spring...you may be wasting your money :( Also DO NOT skimp on grass seed! Get the best you can afford and make sure it's !NOT! contractors mix! It has tons of weed and annual seed in the mix.

My fault that it is being done now. We were saving up the money.

We're still figuring out the top soil and seeding issue - so thanks for the advice.

Are those seed choices good for a shady lawn?
