I enjoyed every bit of it, Thistle' ... except the small extent of hail damage.

There didn't seem to be much made of the near-record (or record lows). Perhaps the weather guys didn't want to taunt us since it is supposed to be above 90° this afternoon and near 100 ° by the end of the week. Office workers get little time outdoors to have a positive experience of much of anything, atmosphere-wise. Must be odd to depend on others to inform them of their surroundings.

I wonder how I could find out when it was that we had ½" of rain during the summer storm.

... It must be several years.

Yeah, what a weird reversal of June & July here, huh?! I was astonished we got a whole day of cloudy intermittent rain a few days ago, unheard of in July! Really helped the wildfire containment in Glacier Natl Park too.

I have never lived in a place that didn't need summer irrigation of the garden. It's strange to me to think of rain doing all my watering.

Over 100* here, no end in sight. No rain. Our sandy soil is powder. I go out and work in the mornings, then knock off about noon.

Irrigation is even required on the Pacific coast. The lack of summer rainfall is all part of that "Mediterranean" climate classification.

I don't have a lot of involvement with perennials except what is here naturally. We all have an interest in preserving our trees from forest fires.

Anyway, our summer climate needs a Mediterranean classification. Winter is another story altho el Nino may change that story this time around.

Tomorrow, let's see if we hit 100°F & 10% humidity by 4pm ..

Well, it was close: 101° and 8% humidity at the nearest airport.

I've mostly been outdoors this afternoon but almost entirely in the shade. There is quite a breeze ...
