I'm still among the living - I think! Thanks for all messages, it's so nice to be missed!
Holy cow, this site sure is a lot different from the old one so I hope I'm doing this right. I'll go back later and read. Ha!

How are all my northern friends? Hope y'all are staying toasty warm and safe. I can't imagine that kind of cold, but it has been pretty cold for us here - 16 degrees here this morning. We haven't seen temps like that in years - I hope it killed a lot of bugs!

I didn't garden much in the fall as we've had so much rain and a lot of my garden soil washed into my neighbors yard! I had to wait two weeks for it to stop raining and dry out enough to shovel it back in - it was a mud pit.

Nothing much in my world has changed, except we've added two other critters to our zoo; another cat and a seven month old mixed breed pup that was dumped on the road. I have her posted on every social media network to get her adopted - any takers???

Oh, and sis and I are taking horseback riding lessons! Yay! When I was growing up, I used to cry and beg my dad to buy me a horse. I had posters all over my room of the horses I wanted. LOL! I still have my old scrapbook of horse stuff that I collected as a kid. Yeah, we'll have a couple of horses by the end of they year. :ya Better late than never.

So tell me what y'all have been up to!!!

Woo hoo! Welcome back Southern! I was just thinking about you today, so good to see you! The new TEG platform is great, it's light years better than the old one.
I'm still discovering new little surprises.

Will you be starting anything soon?
16 degrees is pretty chilly for you down there, hope you didn't lose anything.

Have fun exploring the new forum!

Hiya Joan! Good to see you! :frow No worries, you'll get used to this new format soon.

I would love to take DD6 and myself and my greenbroke horse for lessons. How fun your sis is coming along. :)

I've already noted that your behavior should be reported to administration.

Corrective action should be taken and we will hold all parties responsible.

Now, I think I'm gonna cry . . .

Was that 16 or minus-16? Cold either way. It got down to minus-24 Monday a.m. with wind chills of minus-45 .... Glad to see you back. Stay warm.

Welcome back Southern. I never knew Louisana got that cold. I thought the south had soft winters. I've always wondered if it being cold for a long period of time killed bugs. I hope so. I was sad to hear Lesa can't grow squash because of those bugs!

Thanks y'all - it's good to be missed! Carol, no it was 16 degrees! I remember growing up that the winters were very cold. We haven't had 16 degrees in years.

Mary, I had squash bugs for the first time last spring - I hope the cold killed them!
