seedcorn, you have to have cabbage in shrimp tacos. They are so easy to make. We have them every week. In fact, could use some cabbage right now. ;)

Tell you what, I'll send you cabbage and you send me sour dough bread.

Need recipe for the tacos. Assume I can use fish in place of shrimp?

Well there you have it. The cabbage is stepping up to fill the void.

posted by Baymule who hates Nawthuners that can grow cabbage right now when it would get fried in the Suthurners gardens. :tongue

But at least we have decency to not post pix like you southerners did. Taunting us with your fresh produce..

I planted peppers seeds late, none came up but garden is riddled with volunteer pepper plants. Probably all chili peppers. So there will be none in mail--unless you want unknown variety....

My son, who was in the restaurant business for years, told me that White Castle uses shredded cabbage, flavored to taste like onions, sort of, on their burgers, instead of onions. That could be one of the reasons White Castle burgers are synonymous with running to the bathroom. ;)
That's another use for your cabbage, Seedcorn.

Come on there's gotta be a German or Polish Community center that if you ask would gladly let you at the very least let you put up a flier about your extra cabbage if not just take off your hands.

There are plenty of folks from the "old country" who'd kill for some I bet.

True RR I always call them first to see if they want my extras and I've yet to have them say no. But then I've never tried to donate surplus cabbage either. Usually its cukes, tomatoes and green beans but its worth a try. There any soup kitchens or shelters that serve hot meals in your area? They'll know how to use it for sure.
