Seedcorn, I don't know if you can use fish instead for the shrimp tacos. If grilled, it could fall apart but it should work if you fry it. Here is the recipe.

Shrimp Tacos:

Peeled shrimp
chopped garlic
olive oil
salt and pepper to taste

Place in bowl and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Crema (This is the key to good tacos).

half sour cream
half mayonnaise
chopped garlic (one small clove)
chopped cilantro
chopped small jalapeno (without seeds)
salt and pepper to taste.

Warm up corn tortillas, spread crema inside, add shredded cabbage, and shrimp.

Lucky, will have to find recipe to make cabbage taste like onions. Sounds like a winner to me.

Jared, I'm married to an old Polish lady. I can only eat so much boiled, fried, rolled cabbage.

I will check with local township trustee and food banks to give away excess. First they have to make it but they are off to great start with wet weather.

You can definitely use fish instead of shrimp for the tacos. A nice firm fish is best, for the reason Mary mentioned about falling apart. I just had a walleye sandwich last night at a local farmers market with a sauce similar to the one from Mary's recipe except with lotsa mustard too! I've also made fish tacos with breaded cod, they're delicious with either a cole slaw or just raw cabbage and a fruit salsa on them!
