Any updates on how the cleanup is going in Huston and Florida? All the devastation hurricanes are causing in other places as well and now that earthquake in Mexico, heartbreaking. Has there ever been a year as bad as this one? Is this going to be the new normal?

My sister has gutted the bottom floor of her house down to the studs. All the trash had to be piled in the street, as the county would not come onto private property to pick it up. So when the county showed up, their son got on the tractor and as trash got picked up, he kept shoving the huge pile forward until it was all picked up.

Appliances, furniture, sheetrock, insulation, dishes and food from the kitchen-all had to go. The water even stripped the brick off the outside walls.

To add to all the stress of a gutted home, running their business, her precious little Chihuahua died in her lap on the way to the vet. He was only 9 years old, had hurt his leg, that's why she was taking him to vet. When she got there and picked him up from her lap, his head rolled and he was dead. He hadn't felt good several days before, she just figured it was his leg, but he had heart failure. I think she would have rather the whole house collapse and wash away than lose her dog. She is devastated.
